i have a 78 f-250 that i am working on and i am asuming it was full time 4x4, the hubs were designed so they were engaged all the time, is the transfer case out of this setup the same as any other in that it has 2high, 4high, and 4low.
i want to put manual locking hubs back onto it. but if the t-case is different it wont really do any good will it.
i guess what i am really asking is, since it was 4x4 all the time, does the t-case just have high and low?
ok, so if i put manual locking hubs up front, should i fing an np205 or just use this t-case?
are there any benefits or drawbacks to using one over the other.
you cant use manual hubs with a np203 unless you install the whole part-time conversion kit.
you can use the manual hubs you just have to put the t case in "lock" which defeats the purpose of it anyway, also i've heard from more than a couple sources that the parttime kit wears the 203's out pretty quickly. plus 205's are a dime a dozen so get one of those
what do you mean by a dime a dozen. i have a friend that has one that he said he would sell for $400, that is the price i was told by another friend, either he is crazy or somebody got thier numbers mixed up!
