Is the build date tag on the passenger side valve cover?
If so it says 2003 model A325 conventional wisdom would say that this engine was built on march 25 of 2003 correct? Where is the build date of the truck itself? Driverside door?
I think that is the build date of the truck. The build date of the engine is located on a part in the engine. I do not remember where but I think it is within sight. Also here is a web site to check yr of build: http://www.flatratetech.com/6literpo...oke/03or04.htm
It is located on the driver side valve cover. It is way in the back toward the firewall. You need to stand on something. Bring a flashlight and be prepared to swivel your neck around. It will also tell you where the engine was built.
45 They replaced that part in it now says may 5th 03
The tag inside the door says built 01/03 so engine has to be earlier than that, right? If so it shoots alot of other theorys as well, lasting til 20,000 before grenading the injectors, and also no rear main/bed plate leak to date, using strickly 15w40, and also no turbo hose blowoff, and I run to speed limiter all the time.
They replaced the emissions sticker. The tag inside the door is when the VIN was assigned to that truck. Go to: http://www.flatratetech.com/6literpo...oke/03or04.htm and look at the bottom picture to see where the label is that tells you what date your engine is.
Yep it is on the FICM. See if someone here will run you VIN on OASIS. That should tell you the engine date. Or go over to http://flatratetech.com/6literpowers...ultimatebb.cgi, register, go into the OASIS section and have them run it and tell you what engine you have.

Any takers, as my time is limited, better spent teaching about the myths of oil/ manufacturers in my oil post LOL.
The FICM (computer lookin' thing above the driver side valve cover?) says "EN200 300304 XXXX". I assume It's the Indy plants 200th engine on March 30, 2004. My truck was built on April 5th which allows 6 days from the indy plant to Ford...Does that make sense?
So far, with 1100 miles, I'm getting about 18 MPG city/hwy mix. No probems so far
