I am going to installl my boost and pyro gauges tomorrow(?) if anyone can help. I have been told by 4 different people on where to put the pyro sesnsor.@ people from the same company told me to put it in 2 different places( time for a company meeting!), one said before the turbo(between header and turbo), one said after(in the turbo down pipe). The guy that sold it to me told me before the turbo as well as western diesels gauge instructions page that says to put it in before the turbo. But a diesel expert told me I should be monitoring the exhausts going out and therefore should be in the turbo down pipe.Any help here? I am going to put the boost tube right after the turbo headed towards the intercooler unless someone has a better way?I was told I could tap intot he red hose that is attached to a black connector on the intake manifold, will this work?Sorry so long just want to get in right the first time.Later.

I installed my pyro thermocouple in the driver side manifold. The point of a pyro gauge is to check the temp. going into your turbo. If it exceeds 1270 degrees you can literally ruin the fins on your turbo. As far as the boost gauge I installed that with the "T" fitting in the boost line which is in the rear passenger side corner of the engine compartment. Any problems feel free to e-mail me.
My Pyro sensor is fitted to the out pipe of the turbo, 2 inches from the housing. This is where the factory screw in mounting hole is located. If you do not have the same turbo/downpipe as I do there will be no hole.... When mounting your boost guage pipe, MAKE SURE you do not route it anywhere that will get hot. Shroud it in heat proof sleeving, because it DOES melt.. I speak from experience. The guy who did some work on my truck failed to replace the boost gauge pipe properly, and it melted.
