Uh Oh...... HELP!
When i start my engine the whole engine starts reving up. And it wont stop. Its like im Stepping on the Gas, then Letting Go, Then stopping and letting go. It dose not stop till i press the gear with my foot and then let go, then it goes back to idling.

press the gear with your foot?? what are you pressing? sounds like it is goint into the heat up mode. the tater valve shuts in the exhaust and helps heat up the engine. if you hit the brake peddel or accelerator peddel it will kick out of this mode. sounds like a jet engine when it is doing that, all normal.

tater valve, ever heard of the tater up the tail pipe trick? exhaust back pressure solenoid or EBP located in the turbo pedestal. it shuts and works like the tater in the tail pipe to help warm up the engine. it is only on trucks with cold winter option. most all of them in our area have it. started it in 1999
