Need Help Please!
I went to a to a store and got my self "PHOENIX DIGITAL PD-169 6 x 9 Chrome Finished Speaker-4 Way-700 Watts Max Power" for $55 - i got home and tryed to install it -- they are to big and the wire is diffrent -- i called up the store to return them -- i cant it was a *FINAL SALE*
PLEASE HELP IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN INSTALL THEM in to my 98 FORD X sport in the back - PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, 6x8 is the stock size. You can still install them by modifying the speaker box by an inch, I've seen a few people do that. Or you could just buy 6x9 boxes and put them in the back. I'm not sure what you mean about the wire, size won't matter.

cut the plug on the car. on side is pos the other is the neg. wire colors should be told in the kit for the deck wire adapter. What rim?

I'll have to disagree with modru2004 polarity (+ & -) does matter. If you reverse the speaker polarity (+ & -) you will definetly know it, you'll get real flimsy bass. www.installdr.com will give you the radio harness color code.I recently found out the + side is usually where the release tab on the clip.........Good luck

Speaker phasing is very important,out of phase skeakers will not give you the proper bass response! you can check your phasing by using a 1.5 volt battery ,connecting the speaker terminals to battery will cause the cone to move ,when you get the cone to move outward witchever terminal is on the positive terminal,is your positive speaker terminal! (ive been installing since 1974,work/own a car audio /electronics store.)

thats funny because i hook my speakers up that way and get excellent bass response. im gonna do a test once its up and running again and we will see what happens i will try both ways. im telling you it doesn't matter.

it does matter. the worong polarity will cause the speaker to have a shorter lift and not so good sound. The speaker is designed to pull the cone in to the magnet. by reversing polarity you ar pushing the cone away from the magnet and eventually will tear the cone or blow the speaker because of the unlimited range of travel with reversed polarity.

i need some help - today i returned the 6x9 speakers!!! for 6x8 they look really nice - but no bass and when i turn up to full volume they dont sound clear -- i didnt know which is + or - so i jsut connected them - you think no bass because + and - are in the wrong place??
