I found the answer in his other post,but being creative is much more fun,like is it a nuclear powered,self contained,high output,alcohol injected,wine vat?

I agree with the tv or radio broadcasting cabinet equipment guess. Could be a Comark or Thales brand klystron cabinet; aircooled version?

The answer is................., it is a 250 kilowatt short wave transmitter. The power amplifier tube is a tetrode. The filament requires 400 amps at 20 volts. It takes 3000 watts to drive it.

Wow.. yeah, that's a little more filament amperage than a 6146 or a 3-500Z!! I figured that was part of a Broadcast transmitter.. NICE!

The plate voltage is 14,000 at 20 amps. There is sometimes some strange arcing going on. I had to remove some arc marks yesterday. The PA heatsink sits in a boiler. The water turns into steam which is then condensed. The high voltage area and other equipment takes up around 1000 square feet.
