I've seen quite a few battery cable problems on earlier Exploders.
They corrode and break the connections right inside the terminal where it attaches to the battery. The terminal itself looks good but there is really hardly any connection inside it. You can cut the ends of the cables off and use universal battery terminals on them.
most of the advice seems to be pointing first at the cables. I recently put a universal end on the ground so I will check the positive cable too. Thanks.
