I need to find a carburetor for my 351W that is to go into a 86' Bronco. It will be a daily driver, but definatly a performance engine.
Will most likely use either a Weiand Stealth intake or a Performer RPM (not sure yet).
Here is some info on my Cam:
Comp cams #35-239-3
Duration @ .050: 218 intake/226 exhaust
Gross valve lift: .493 intake/.512 exhaust
Anyway, I know that i want a Demon Carb. But Choosing is going to be hard, thats why i need some advice. I know for sure i want electric choke and vacuum secondaries.
The Stealth and the 650 Speed Demon. The Stealth has a better RPM range then the Edel rpm, and in my opinion are better quality. I've owned both, so that's what I base my decision on. The Speed Demon is more of a performance carb then the others. If you don't want to pay the extra cash for the Speed Demon, at least get the 625 Road Demon. A 351 is plenty big enough for a 650cfm carb.
Demon carbs will help you if you give them a call. They match up the carb with the cam you are running. I thought I wanted the road demon jr until I talked to them. They told me I needed the Road Demon at least and would prefer me run A Speed Demon. I went with a brand new Road Demon 625 off ebay and have not looked back. I absolutly love it. I also put on a new Stealth intake and headers resently, it's not the same truck. Loves to rev and go

"On your combination we'd recommend using a 625 Road Demon carburetor, or a 650 Speed Demon carburetor. Either will work well on your current combination, but if you're planning on making future upgrades the Speed Demon would be a better choice since it would give you more room to grow."
I think i am going to go with the 650 Speed Demon, as the price difference is minimal......Do you think that there is any disadvantage on going to the 650 vs the 625?
The Speed Demon 650 is AWESOME!!! I have two of them on a tunnel rammed 460. They are super easy to tune and even come with a (poorly narrated but informative) video tape. The best thing about the Speed Demon 650 is the fact that it's available in mechanical or vacuum secondary and is a true double pumper. They ain't too cheap but they are very worth the $439 price tag. Good luck!
