Ignition key lock,ABS & Brake Light Problems
I've had three things recently happen to my 97 F-150 4X4. First I recently tried to start my truck and could not turn the key. I finally figured out that the only way I could get the key to turn is to have the hazard lights on while cranking it. Second and third, my ABS light and brake light on the dash that lights up when the parking brake is on came on this morning driving to work and now my brake lights do not work at all. All the other lights work, turn signal, hazard, running lights and reverse lights. I don't know if the brake lights not working is a result of the ABS light from this morning or not.
I can't seem to find my owners manual to see which fuse to check so I guess I will just go pull them all and check each one to see if that's the problem.

Bad Info
Actually I can crank it, but I can't take it out of park until I push the hazard light button. I called someone and they said most likely the switch under the brake pedal is broken. Guess I'll go look for that now.

fuse #6 (5 amp) and fuse #13 (15 amp) under the dash both power the shift interlock, and #13 powers the brake lamp. You can only get it out of gear by pushing the hazard lamps because your brake light circuit is dead.
