I'm getting ready to add a set of mechanical gauges and wondered what would be the best wire to tie into for the cluster lights. I thought about the ash tray light, there's not much room to get to that wire, I could unless there's a better/easier way.
Also, where would be the best place for the voltmeter hot wire,
a fuse tap in the fuse box to something that only is powered when the ignition is on?
Thanks, Bill
im looking for a wire too... its a brand new truck and im wiring in a switch box and i need some wire/fuse location that turns on with the key... The thing is with my switchbox is not only will this wire light up the backlight, but it also turns on the unit... although this is not the main power, it just turns on the switch to the main power (which is a separate wire). What i need is a wire/fuse that turns on with the key that is easy to get to... i was thinkning the power window fuse maybe?? the problem with the dash lights is that like explained before i need this on whenever the truck is turned on, NOT just when the headlights are turned on. Thanks for any help.
