Interior Modification??

I want to remove the rear bench and mount it sideways, with the back against the rear side window. Has anyone ever done this and can it be done. I am open to any suggestions or comments you might have. I just thought it would be cool and my friends always complain that for a big truck it has no leg room in the rear. It is a 94 Bronco XLT 5.0, E4OD Stock. Thank You

the way the back has that little six inch step will make it hard to do, but it can always be done. you will need to check the legality of it with the safety gear sideays, but other than that, drill holes and bolt the seat down

Actually a cool idea... Makes me want to mount mine in the back with a shelf on the other side... Set up three computers there and you have a rolling LAN... Sorry, I know I'm a geek.
Another thought though, if the bench sticks off the lip too far, ditch it and put buckets in the back facing sideways...
As for safety, I can't help but think about the side-facing seats in the back of smaller pickups... Though I guess they could consider the front seats a part of the safety features...

swing the bench seat--build a shelving system and make it match the interior-- put a flip up/down lcd screen--dvd/playstation/whatever. Now you have a rolling game room/theater!!

Why not?? Wouldn't suggest 4-wheelin with passengers though...heads bobbling would probably crack the quarter glass

To get over the hump, you might just need to make a spacer for one side, as long as it wouldn't make the seat too high.

As for the other guys suggestions, you remind me of all of those vans in the 70's LOL! If he's going to put in a computer and video games, why dosn't he just go ahead and get some **** rug, wood panel the sides and roof, and put a fake fireplace in the back!! It would be nicer than my living room. Oh, then you have to make the seat fold into a bed too!

I resent that, my Wagoneer had **** carpet, wood panel, and a roof rack

But come on, computers vs **** carpet, I think the computers win. Just think, you could pull up to a friends house, an extension cord if you don't want to worry about the battery, and you and your friends can kill each other in the driveway

why an extension cord to the house. why not mount a generator to the front and have constant power. this way your freinds can be in the back playing aaway while offroading on the trail or on the beach.
