try doing a search for "crank vent bypass" or "crank case vent bypass" i have been in 2 or 3 threads on this subject, i also have picts of the bypass in my gallery. if you get a hold of heatstroked you may be able to get one of his custom bypass setups(very cool)

Basically, the crankcase vents in to the intake tube leading to the turbo. You have probably noticed by now that an oily film is developing around your intercooler boots and the intake boots. We re-route the vent out of the intake to keep this from happening.

There might be a very slight performance gain to be had as well since you are lowering the the temperature of the intake charge slightly, also a coating of oil will reduce the effectiveness of the charge air cooler, and we don't want that.

Cookie,

With that being said, how does the turbo get lubricated if you bypass the cv? Or am I just missing the point all together?

The turbo is lubricated with engine oil via passages in the turbo mount pedestal. It is completely unrelated to this mod.
