My mother's driver's side seat handle broke off on her 98 expy. Now you can't recline the seat, but more importantly, you can't flip the seat forward, and it's a sport so you can only get into the back seat from the passanger side now. The dealer wanted $200 to fix it, so we held off. Today I found an explorer in the boneyard while I was poking around for parts for my truck. (hard to find in u-pull-its around here) So I got that whole hing off, with the bracket, spring and all. My buddy works there, so I got it for $2 along with some other odds and ends I picked up.
The thing is, to get it off at the yard I just took my razor knife to the seat at the top so I could get the two bolts that go into the back out. Now, how can I get to these on my moms car without slicing up her nice leather seat?
