Gauge Information
Just recently returned from a roadtrip to california from new mexico. Bronco treated me really well, happy to say. However - my oil pressure (dummy) gauge doesn't work properly anymore...I've read on this forum that it has to do with the voltage not being correct as the electronics get older. It was bouncing at the far left when I was stopped with the brakes depressed...and the CHECK ENGINE light would come on and go out in synchronization with the gauge. Same for my fuel gauge...I can get around ~180 miles on the first half of the tank then it will fall to around ~140 miles on the second half. Big surprise the engine temperature gauge also began acting erratic. With this...I decided it better to go with all mechanical gauges.
What brand of components should I go with on this and what should I replace to get the best readings possible. I'd like to get WATER TEMP, BATT VOLTAGE, OIL PRESSURE, FUEL QUANTITY and possibly ATF OIL TEMP gauges. What are the normal readings for these as I'm used to seeing it in the middle of NORMAL. Seeing as I did a full tune-up with a few extra steps of maintenance on the Bronco I feel as though I shoudn't have any problems getting them installed and operating correctly. Any help would be appreciated!
