Reading obd fault codes

Is there a way to read the obd fault codes on my 99 F250? Pretty sure I know what is causing the engine light, but want to make sure and want to be able to clear it once the problem is fixed.

You must use a scan tool for obdII codes. The old blinking dash light deal is gone. I have heard autozone and some other places will scan your vehicle for free.

I plan on checking my codes the old fashioned way (my truck's a 93) and I read the directions on fordfuelinjection.com, but I have a couple of questions. It says to ground the two plugs, but how do I do that? I know that the body of the truck is ground, but one plug has 6 holes and the other has 2, so which hole(s) do I put a wire in to connect to the truck body?
