I got a 95 F250 last month. It's a supercab, longbed 4x4 with a 460 and an automatic (I'm assuming an E4OD) When I got it I could hear the ticking sound that goes along with a cracked exhaust manifold (sounds like the passenger side) which I have read since is pretty common with these trucks. I have started looking for a set of headers, but am not having any luck.
I want a pair of headers with good thick tubing (14g) and 3/8" flanges, but I also want it to bolt in place of the stock headers, and not cost as much as the Thorley's. Am I completely out of luck here? I don't need the highest performance, cause I don't race it. I just want an exhaust that won't crack or leak and maybe give me a few more horses.
I saw where the Hedman Elite headers are close to what I want for an amount of money I can justify spending, but it says that exhaust modification is needed to maintain the catalytic converter. I can't do that in my garage, does anyone make on that will bolt in?
