Bondo in seams?

I saw this happening when I was working on my old 71 custom...but thought that it wouldn't work. This guy was filling the seams on the bed with bondo...I don't know if it would have stayed in, because the truck was never really finished and has not been driven on the street. I painted my truck but have since noticed that the seam is really kinda an eye sore. If this were done....will they bonda stay in the seam....?.Or perhaps something could be used other than bondo? Thanks, Nomadic....!

You can put bondo in the seams, just make sure that you seam seal first and wipe away everything except the absolute seam. Then you can fill it with bondo or use Everglass first then finish with Bondo. If your gonna off-road with this truck I wouldn't recommend it, but for a street machine, there's no cleaner way except to weld them. I've personally done this on the door jambs of my '73 and it looks real nice.

I plan on mig welding all of my seams as well on a 54 F-100. I want a smooth truck and no seams for water to get into. Ed
