6.0 Turbo
I've noticed in the last three weeks that at times it sounds as though my turbo is not emmiting as much noise out of the tail pipe as it usually does. I pulled up to a red light the other day and at the red ligt was a brick building on the right side, near my tail pipe. The windows were down and when I could usually here the turbo wistling loudly, there was nothing. Just as soon as I heard nothing, I then heard the turbo start up and sound off as loud as it usually does. My worry is that the turbo may have some bearings going out, or that there is some other type of restrictions going on inside, which may leave me on the road somewhere. My father in law owns the dealership, so I'll have it in the shop Monday, but I wanted to see if there is anyone else who has or knows what this possible problem may be. I always like to enlighten the mechanics to the problems they're working on by telling them that I already read about it on this site.
