Up in smoke?
Greetings all - new to the boards and the proud owner of a 99 Explorer XLS. This happened recently and I need to know if anyone has experienced the same?
After starting a couple of weeks ago, a small puff of smoke came out of the hazard light swith area - this has actually happened twice. I thought maybe a fire, but no heat and everthing including the hazard light switch work fine. Any ideas?

JH, you have a faulty "Multi-function Switch". These fail frequently on our Explorers. I haven't had to replace mine yet, but I understand it's not a big job. First check with your local Ford dealer; sometimes they'll have a "silent recall" on things that aren't safety related.
