P.S. You need to put your actual location in your description or put nothing at all. Second... Ford vehicles are all that is aloud in sigs, and all other's will be removed w/o notice. This is a 3 strike rule.
You the morality police, or what? Relax bud, that is what the moderators are for.
If you have a factory tint(non-removable), there is no state in America that allows a citation to be issued. So if your Ranger came from the factory with privacy glass, tell the cop or judge to have a good one, because it's an illegal ticket.

hehe. Na... I just figure the Mods have a big enough job in which they don't get paid for, that we should all help them some. Also, almost everyone that has submitted to this thread are newbies, and probalbly belong to other forums in which they are not as strict as they are on here. Many of the rules are three strikes, unfortionatly, the Mods don't always tell you that you've gotten your first strike, and leave you wondering what happened to that sig. you worked so deligently on making it original, then you change it back... then get the 2nd strike... etc... this can be very confusing to new guys, and I would hate to see them get kicked off because they didn't take time to read the guidelines. Anyway's, it's certainly nothing personal... just trying to give back to the community and help the Mod's out.
I have a 98 with factory privacy glass. I also have a canopy with matching tint on the sides. I had the shop tint the driver and passenger windows to 13% light transparency to match the factory glass. Same thing on the back window. Haven't been pulled over yet, I see a lot of people with the same dark (or darker) tint. When I have extra cash I'm probably going to limo tint all the windows except the windshield and the driver/passenger side windows.
Here in Oregon, windshield must be no more than 70%, driver/passenger windows must be no more than 50%, and all the other windows are fair game (on a pickup or multi-use vehicle anyway).
Personally, I would want much dark than 13% on the driver/passenger side windows. Driving while it's really dark takes a little more concentration, atleast when turning sharp corners. I'd like to get a little tint on the front, but I like to see ahead of me at night.

Twisted Ranger is right. If you have factory tint, it is 50 state and Canandian Province legal. Just like emmissions, Ford is obligated by federal law to be compliant. That's why the tint is not very dark. It must meet the requirements of the state(s) with the most strict laws regarding tint. If you did get a ticket, go to court. You will win. Take some documentation with your VIN to court. The first three digits classify the Ranger as a multi-purpose vehicle and show compliance with federal law, which preceeds state law; providing that no after market tint has been added. You can contact the Ford Customer Relationship Center at 1-800-392-3673. They can fax you a VIN clarification letter that will state the above.
Good luck, sorry to hear about your troubles,
Hammerlane
