Trans Fluid Questions
I just bought my first powerstokre a month ago and it didnt come with a owners manual.
My question is what is the proper way to check the transmission fluid, and if I am to change the fluid, what is the best type for making it last even if I start to add tuners and exhausts?

The correct way to check the trans fluid is to drive the truck to warm up the transmission. Go at least 10 miles, stop and go workd better than constant speed.
Move the shifter to EVERY position. Then put it in park and leave the engine idling. Now check the level.
Your transmission requires MERCON spec fluid. Not MERCON V, and not a fluid that says it is for both MERCON and MERCON V. I think Mobil 1 synthetic ATF is the best fluid available for this transmission.

As stated above, the tranny fluid is best check at normal operating temperatures. Around 170*-180*.
A good trick, the dipstick should be too hot to hold, but not hot enough to burn you.
BTW, I run Mobil1 ATF.
