AOD -or- E4OD?

Is ther an easy way to tell the difference between an AOD and a E4OD? I have a '92 Bronco, and I've read that the AOD continued until '93. But then the E4OD started some time around '92. Thanks

An AOD trans is controlled by a TV cable that will connect right at the throttle body. There are no electronic devices on it other than the neutral safety switch. An E4OD is an electronically controlled trans. There is a computer that will control the shift points, etc. It is a long trans as well. I think that the AOD is about 20.5 inches long if my memory is correct. It may also say metric on the trans pan. If it does that is an AOD. Hope this helps.

Easiest way to tell is the gear indicator in the dash.

E4OD has PRN(OD)21 There is an "overdrive cancel" button on the end of the shifter.
AOD has PRN(OD)D1

As an FYI, I had a '93 F150 w/5.0 and AOD. So, it was definitely still around in '93.
