I have a 91 F250 7.3L Diesel w/factory installed AC compressor with V belts, and today I changed my Clutch and the data I had said to bolt down the bolt (clutch bolt) to 155lbs and well.. the bolt shaft snapped. so I am loking for another AC compressor.
does anyone know what other vehicules I can "swap" an ac compressor front to work properly on my truck.. going to visit the scrap yard in hopes I find something, but being in texas, most truck are pretty much stripped out .. and well I am trying to dodge 288$ for a new one.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 19-Sep-02 AT 00:45 AM (EST)]for my 94 F250 got one from a (94 or newer ranger or explorer?)that fit. the only change was the location of the wires to operate the clutch. needed to extend the wires a few inches. since the 91 is a R12 system don't know if this swap will work for you. (94 is R134A) make sure you got the right refrigerant comperssor. maybe you can find a 91 ranger or explorer to try the same thing with.
