Exclamation faulty computer ?

I'm still having problems with my 2.9 ford ranger. I have changed just about everything. TPS , coil ,spark plugs, wires, distributior . should I change the computer? IT hates hills like a bad habit, 2nd gear most of the time. It does not burn oil so I don't think it needs a rebuild. Is there any thing you guys suggest?I'm at my wits end!!!P.S I have changed fuel fiter, fuel pump in the gas tank, oxygen sensor. I'm open for ANY advice and direction THANKS, bears' dad

1st: Have you pulled codes from the computer?
2nd: Timing correct (SPOUT disconnected)?
3rd: Fuel pressure as it should be?

Check fuel pressure, vacuum-basic tune up items. How long has it been since a full tune up was done?Could be something as simple as a bad ground. Without checking for codes, it can be possibly anything. You need a systematic approach to lead you to a gradual process of elimination

As a last resort you may want to check the compression, they should all be about the same.
