I replaced the bags and module, main fuse, along with trying 2 different front sensors, but still get a code 52. I did not change the clockspring. From what I have found, code 52 is interrupted or repaired power supply. Any idea where I should go from here? Could a bad clockspring give this code? Thanks.
Tom
I dont have a wiring diagram for a 98, but i'm pretty sure that the horn & cruise control wont work either if the clock spring is open. Take a look at a wiring diagram. Want an XLNT manual for troubleshooting electrical problems?? Go here www.helminc.com & buy this: "Electrical & vacuum troubleshooting manual" for your 98. I have this manual for my 95 Taurus & for my 87 Ranger. It makes fixing electrical problems simple.
Just out of interest can you tell me where the fuse is for you air bags .I am trouble shooting my 2000 that has had the bags replaced and still fashes code 11.

I changed the fuse located in the underhood fuse box, on the left inner fender.
In response to the ALLDATA link, I am confused as to what is meant by diagnostic monitor. I changed the control module inside the right kick panel, and cannot find reference to any other air bag computer monitor. What am I missing? Thanks.
Yours might be totally different, but on my 95 Taurus there are 3 instrument panel air bag fuses. One of them is wired to the capacitor in the air bag diagostic monitor. Check the fuse page in your owners manual. The bottom line is you need to get the manual I mentioned or get a hold of a wiring diagram at the library. On my 95 Taurus the kick panel sensor is a "safing sensor"
