It became clear to me earlier today that my username gives the impression to people that I'm of the female gender. So in an attempt to clear this up ( because quite frankly it's embarassing ) I thought that it would be fun for people to post how they got a certain nickname that they might have. Some may think it's kinda lame, but I'm sure many of you out there have some really funny stories to tell. I'll start:
Ok here goes -
One day back in high school a bunch of my friends showed up at lunch in the cafateria after sneaking out to their cars for .... well, how can I put this .... some illegal substance inhalation if you know what I mean. Somehow, one of those brainless geniouses tried starting some stuff with me. One of them said we need a nickname for you. So they started rambling off mindless names. My last name is Lewis. One of them related my last name to Lulu Hogg of the Dukes Of Hazzard. LewLew then became Lulu and it's stuck with me ever since then. I have no idea how those hammerheads related that big heffer to me. I'm 26 and 85% of my buds still call me that. Hell, one of my good friends dad doesn't even know my first or last name, he just knows Lulu. I guess it may be border line gender bending if you don't know me or my friends. Funny how nicknames come about.
Kewl story LuLu - nobody's ever had the nerve ( or cared enough?) to give me a nick name. Oh, wait - My wife has something she calls me, but I think it's against the rules of this board to type it here.
When I was pledging as a freshman in college they called me Bluto, apparently I look like the big guy who always messes with Popeye. I don't see the resemblance...wait, they're right. My family all call me bear, I guess since I'm large, hungry, I sleep a lot and I'm cranky when disturbed...again they got me.
well my buddies, coworkers, auto teacher call me: Hick, Snyder (my first name isnt good enough for them wich is Justin), Boomhower (I talk like a hick), Jub (I dont know where that came from) My family usualy calls me jub or JR
My momma use to baby sit at home when I was in high school. One of the girls she watched couldnt say my name, it always came out sounding like Bubba. One day my girlfriend was over and heard her call me Bubba, so she started calling me that too. Then everybody else at school did the same, so the name Bubba pretty much stuck. Some how it evolved to Bubby with my family, but friends still call me Bubba.
When I was in basic (Ft Benning, Georgia Hooah!!!)I got the name Tex since Im from the great Lone Star state. There were a few other Texans in my platoon, but somehow I got the lable. Not that I minded, I was proud of it!
My first nickname froms from playing lacrosse- Thrasher since Im always mowing people over trying to get the ball. My second comes from the way i talk and act- redneck. guess how i talk and act.
