Most of these clips are the same from year to year. By "new clips" do you mean they look like a flat triangle with two legs comming off the bottom. The end of the hose has 4 holes in it so that when you push the legs through the first 2 holes the end of the legs comes out the other two. Yes, a flat head is your best freind, or needle nose. If you can stick the flat head under the triangle end with one hand then use your other to push up on the legs sticking out the other side. That way you don't break them by prying up to hard. They should just pull out from that point.

Edit (5 sec later): I always forget to notice that some of these are user's first posts. Welcome to FTE.

they look as though they are round with one flat end that holds it in . On one side it has the clip clearly visible and the other has two small square holes. It looks as though if i could expand the ring i could easily get it off. I was wondering if there was a special tool to take them off . But i was more or less trying to find an easier and cheaper way to do it rather than having to buy a special tool. I know of the old style where you can easily take them off with a flat head screwdriver and the clips are more of a U shape but these new ones have to be something so the dealer can make more money or something.I have definately confirmed the year model of the truck to be an 02 and I have the new filter it comes with the bracket and all but no clips so there must be a way to get them off with out getting mad and breaking them which is what i may do if i dont watch out.i would appreciate any help i can get. thank you very much.
