Down from 5.8

In the process of overhauling a nice 4.9 carb that I want to replace my big 5.8 EFI.
I have to get my gas pressure down from my tanks, is there a gas pressure regulator on the market or do I have to remove my electric fuel pumps from the tanks ?

Thanks Everyone.

If you are talking about fuel pressure regulators, then yes, there are some on the market... I think ideal for the Carter 1v carb on a stock six should be around 4-7psi...thats what you need to find. Either a regulator in this range, or a fully adjustable one so that you can tweak it how you like.

Just disconnect the electric from the in-tank pump, and let the 300's mechanical pump pull the gas.

Holley makes adjustable fuel pressure regulators. I would recommend using the electric pump, you won't have to worry about vapor lock, and the system is already there.

Ventilated caps, pumps disconnected, that's ok. What about the hi-pressure valve in the pump ?

I run my I6 a few hundred miles with pumps disconnected and vented caps. I had gas starvation problem on full power and no tank transfer.
To solve this, I have to reconnect my pumps and find a gas pressure regulator from 35 to 6.
Please, tell me where to look for this regulator ? Holley ???

The last one I got I ordered from summit racing.

If I remember right www.summitracing.com

But most good auto parts stores carry them as well.
