How do I replace the ignition pick up coil?

How do I replace the ignition pick up coil?
it is under a little pressed on plate that I cannot get off without bending. I have ht epress on rotor it that makes a difference. I sure hope I dont have to pull the dizzy out because I am sure that it is frozen in there. Thanx guys
