'85 Bronco 2 trans

My daughters' '85 Bronco2 4x4, auto trans. / OD has been leaking around the bell housing area for some time now. It leaks while it is parked, we have checked the oil pan and any lines in that area. The leak is probably torque converter or front seal. Can this be repaired without tearing whole transmission to pieces? I have not worked on these transmissions before.

If the torque converter is leaking the most you'll have to do is remove the tranny. If it is the front seal in the tranny you will still have to remove it, but if it is the seal you might consider to get it rebuilt. If that seal is going bad then the rest of them aren't too far behind.

Thumbs up Fender flares

Thats' good advice, it has approx. 180,000 miles on it so it is time.

My daughter installed a 3" body lift kit and 31" tires but they rub at back of the front fender well when turning on uneven ground. Are there any good flare kits out there that have a wider opening to clear these tires? Any help would be appreciated.

I put some 30" X 10" on my B2 and I don't have a body or suspension lift. I took a 2 x 4 and stuck it behind the tire and pulled back on the 2 x 4 and it rolled the rear of the fender back i also did this on the front of the fender no rubbing.

i just took the plasma cutter and cut the fenders evenly off around the rear approx 2inches then got a roll of that "chrome" door trim from the auto parts store..looks good. then again i run 35x12.50x15 inch BFG AT/s on mine with 4 inch suspension and 3 inch body lift.

Trans problem is a leaky front main seal. $6 part..but with that much mileage on it i'd have it rebuilt.

The front seal on the trans is easy to replace..just have to get the trans out of the vehicle first. If you have a garage or know someone with one with some heat in it..It will take about 2hrs tops to get it out..putting it back in usually takes a little longer. If you have the time and place to do it and dont mind laying on your back then you can do it yourself. I've done mine myself on a sunday afternoon.
