First the more important one, on my 1976 2wd F-100 with a 302 v-8 and2bbl carb. The truck will start but dies in shortly after. When you give it a little gas as it's slowling down it kill the engine Sometimes it will get over it and run fine. Other times it won't.
I used Carb cleaner in the aerosol canbut it doesn't seem to have helped. It needs a bit of gas down the carb to get it started most of the time but it doesn't seem to help.
Does anyone know whats wrong? Should i save myself the trouble and just buy a new carb if it is the carb?
And my second question is how hard is it to change the truck to 4x4. I've been toying with the idea and really want a 4x4 to go fishing and just play with but how hard is it?
Thanx for any help.

Sounds more ignition related. Do you have a duraspark ignition? Could have a bad module. Remove yours and flip it over and see if you can find arc lines in the potting.

Where's the ignition located? This is the first car i've worked on in my life (i'm 17) I'm going to pick up one of those repair manuals soon but haven't gotten around to it. Thanx for any help.
