My friend has a 96 PSD 97,000k miles that stalls occasionaly at stop lights and takes a few minutes before it will fire up again. It also seems to be lacking power especially on hills. We have changed 2 mechanical fuel pumps in the last 18 months,fuel filters,air filters all new.Ford says something may be taking these pumps out? The only trouble code I got was a ebp sensor low,which we replaced and cleaned the tube to it. Another fuel pump? Cam sensor going without setting any codes? Help.

 

It could be the cam sensor, a couple yrs ago, a guy I worked for had that trouble, the truck would die, then after a while it would run, go a few miles and die again,,it was the cam sensor, and was located around the harmonic balancer area,,seems to me his truck was a 96' also!

It took like 20 mins to change and was'nt to bad to install either.
