Hi Guys ! I got a 95 f-350 powerstroke automatic, Its a good truck, well serviced and taken care of. even though its got 2 hundred thousand miles on it. It runs and pulls great. Im not affraid to pull my gooseneck with 15,000 lb on it anywere. But it does have a problem when it cold or hot,if i donot put it out of gear before I stop for a red light,80% of the time it will die. I will start back up,after lots of horn blowing and cussing by others. Other then that it a great truck. THANKS !!
Torque converter remaining locked up is the most common reason for that symptom. My F450 did that at 70K miles. A new converter, and a day in the shop cured it.

You didn't say whether it is a standard or auto. My thought if is is standard, it may not be releasing fully and killing the engine. With milage, the springs in the pressure plate can weaken therefore giving symptoms mentioned.
