My friend's kid has one of those energy resources reports and he found out we only have about 60 yrs of gas left and 250 yr of coal left at present consumption. Has anyone heard of this?

Seriously though what we leave behind for our kids is very important even though when I look at some of todays kids I can't help but think they could care less. I could be wrong here (it would be the first time this year) but I suspect the push for alternative fuels and motors will really get started any soon moment and then what are all the Sheiks going to do 
Also I think I heard this about 20 years ago so I guess we really only have about 40 years of fuel left.
