my decision

Gentleman,
I'm new to this forum, hello everyone. I'm a member of several other car forums. reason i joined this one I will be in the market for a new heavy duty p/up within a couple months. I have just sat back and took all the info in i've been reading here. honestly, i have become afraid of buying the superduty. I feel so sorry for those folks that have bought this vehicle everytime i read the problem posts. I know some of you folks have had great success out of your trucks, but if i were y'all i would be afraid to drive the truck on any long trips, and i know most already have. I'm not a " chevy, ford or dodge man" I'm just looking for a dependable vehicle as i will be going out of town for car purchasing. what brought me to the ford side is at the gas station a month or so ago,i seen a brand new 450 fueling up. the man had just purchased it and was putting its first tank of fuel in it. the truck was so beautiful and sounded really nice, i was hooked. THEN I went to researching the truck and found all these issues with it, what a shame. about 2 weeks ago I was STILL contemplating buying the truck anyway. now today ,i'm posting for the first time, in this forum to say I have decided not to buy the truck. I'm sure the problems will be worked out down the road. the trucks are for sale everywhere you look, it seems people are getting rid of them in droves. I hate to see this as i thought i had found the truck for me. anyway, i'll go for now and thanks also to Tim Lamkin for such a great job as moderator. good luck guys with your trucks.

People with no problems don't post much exept brag about addons. I had an oil leak that was fixed in a day. I'm satisfied with my Ford being a former Chevy man. I could not justify spending 3 to 4 thousand more on a Chevy with the same features and only a 36,000 mile warranty for a diesel. Dodge has thier auto-trans horrer stories(no real crewcab availible). Look all makes have there stories to tell, you hope you get a good one.

that's fine, if you wouldn't like the truck you shouldn't get it, HOWEVER, there are a lot of Superduties on the road doing their job everyday. These forums bring a crowd of people who are seeking help, and we do the best to help each other out. I like F-250, no other truck on the market has the stance. The Powerstroke is a phenomenal engine with outragous power and International is a proven provider. The crewcab interior provides more leg room than some luxury cars. I'm happy with my Superduty and will keep it for many, many years.

I believe you've made the right decision, gemleeus. I commend you for doing your homework and seeing this motor for what it is, still in development.

i pretty much did the same thing as you, found a sweet truck, then researched it. came to the conclusion that i should avoid pre may engine build date trucks, and i would be fine.

21k later, and i was right.

i commend you on your research, and the decision was always yours to make of course. hope you make the right one for YOU.

anyhoo, good luck either way!
