Installed a dual battery setup

I had been looking for the Trailer Charge Relay wire under the truck and could not locate it. I finally found it against the wall behind the panel behind the drivers seat. After installing the missing relay in the power dist. box, I have added a 75AH Gel battery to power my cooler/refidge. I was able to strap the battery to existing holes in the van and mounted another power point for the cooler plug. Now I can leave the cooler running 24hrs. I think.

I feel that since the 12 gauge from the trailer battery relay is rated at 25 amps that is enough as far as charging goes. I might put in another battery in parrallel and will use 0 or 00 to connect them. As far as the power point goes, I stayed with the 12 guage. I picked up the cigar lighter plug from Advanced Auto. It was 4.99 came with 12 guage wire, is marine rated, has a rubber cap and is guaranteed for life.

Don't forget to rewire that cheapo OEM system with a battery isolator or you will have problems down the road.
