mine backfires all the time. Cousre i got some holes in the converter, I want to know how to make it stop? The only negative effect i was warned of was the unburnt gas "washing" the oil off the cylinder walls, just what i was told.
My truck Back fires when it wants to. This thread is so funny I'm gonna try this, sounds like a good prank too! I've got a stock exaust so I don't mind if it explodes.lmao!! I wonder what will happen when I get my flame exaust and do this? I wonder what people will think when they see a old beater farm truck shooting a 3ft flame out the exaust? at least no one will tailgate me!!
Yea.this is a great prank to pull on people. A friend of mine has an old Dodge that he does this in. 318...straight pipes. We've done it quite a few times and gotten some good reactions. Had people jump into their cars, dive down on the ground and one guy we scared his dog so bad that it drug him up over a dirt pile and he fell then hid behind the pile. It was great. Other than scaring people we usually just do it by all the places where the little rice grinder "homies" hang out and see if we can scare any of them. ....What are they gonna do about it? my friends truck, although a dodge is a complete tank. i bet he could hit anything and it wouldnt hurt his ttruck he has huge flat bed on the back and a huge custom deer killer on the front. There is no stopping his truck....unless the engine screws up again...as usual haha.
A friend of mine used to have an old Chebby 1/2 ton that he blew one of the exhaust valves out on. Well when the engine was hot he could punch the gas for a second and then let off so the cylider would fill with gas. When it ignited it would make a huge bang shoot a fireball out of the exhaust pipe. He went around on halloween freaking out people because they thought he was shootin' flares at them or something.
If you close a manual choke while doing this you get a really rich mix. Just add a sparkplug in the tail pipe and you got a ten foot flame thrower!! (for show and off road use only )
My friend has a 53' Belair with a bored 350, turbo tranny, the works pretty much. He added flame trowers and its awesome cause he has the pipes commin down the side if the car instead of under it.
