I have a friend who has a '72 F-100. He doesn't have a puter, and he wants to know is there billit grilel inserts made for his truck. He has 2 plastic pieces that are broken and look like crap. He wants to keep his aluminum gill, and I'll have to show him the thread about getting it to shine, because his is rough. He has called some places ( I don't know where ) with no results. If he can't find any, he thinks he will just get new plastic inserts.
I had to put something into the grill of my '72 after it was stolen and stripped, so here's what I came up with. Check my gallery pix. Couldnt find anything in billet either.
its a terrible feeling to look in your driveway, and your truck is not there. They jimmied the vent window to unlock the door, and then took it out of gear and towed it away at 2am. It was gone approx 2 months, minus about $2000 worth of parts. So I started over, and I'm not done yet. one thing they took was the grill, and wanting to get it on the road, I did the grill from metal pieces from Home Depot. It is just 3/4" square aluminum tubing mounted on 1&1/2" flat alum stock. bolted in top and bottom. they also sell the black plastic caps that close the tubing ends up. I now have a stock grill laying in the garage, but I like this better.
It would be a terrible feeling to look and your truck is not there. I am glad that you did get it back but feel bad that you had it stolen. It`s great that you didn`t give up. Thanks for the info on the grill, looks good and gives me an idea.
Baitmaster I guess after a week went by and you didn't get back a super tricked out truck you knew your weren't on overhaulin' huh? Glad you got it back!! just messin' with you.
