Mirror question ???
I recently purchased a used 1999 F-250, and it has a heated mirror w/ signal in it on drivers side, but not pass. ( drivers side signal and heat doesnt work ) so I'm guessing it was changed, poss and expedition ??? Just wondering if you can tell me what it came off of. I can email a pic. if you need it. I'm going to try to hook up the signal part, and would like to get one for the pass. side also. thanks.

Yea pretty sure they didn't offer signals till 01-02?? Not shure on it but I can tell that it isn't your stock mirror. Signals are pretty easy to wire up but the heat im not to shure becuase there is siwtches involved and stuff. Just post a pic in your profile and I'll see if I can tell.

The turn signal mirror came out in 03 I think. The previos owner probably got the wrong one from the dealer or Ebay. You can either try ebay for a matching turn signal mirror or save money by getting a non heated/turn signal one on Ebay and selling the turn signal one that doesn't work on your truck for more than you pay for the right one for yours. The heat part of the mirror comes on with the defrost in my 04 but you should be able to wire it to a switch. Don't wire the turn signals into the rear turns or they will come on as brake lights too.

come to find out, this is off an excursion. Saw 3 this week in the walmart and tgi fridays parking lots, looked at them, and they were the same. I'd like to get one to match, I really would like to get the new super duty mirrors ( tow style ) with the light on the rim of the mirror.

Im in the process of installing 04 mirrors onto my 99. The mirror connectors are way different. I would take your drivers door panel off and see if that person hacked up the wiring. If you want your heated mirrors and turn signals to work your going to have to wire them up. It shouldnt be to hard.
If i were you i would try everywhere but the dealer, ive heard there like 700 each mirror but im not 100% sure

yeah, I dont care about the heat really, just think the turns would be cool ??? I like the new ones though, saw them for the first time this week on a truck, and then I started seeing them all over the place. Anyone got a set they may want to sell ???? Just a thought.

I wish I had gotten the heated mirrors on my truck. I wanted them, but not having them wasn't going to be a deal breaker. The truck I bought had everything I wanted except the mirrors. 2 days later we had a snow and ice storm and I had over 1/2" of solid ice on the mirrors. I am now seriously considering the swap before next winter.
