Timing Advance????

what is the timing advance for a 91 f150 302 w/efi??? I have it set at 0 now and it idles fine but when you put a load on it, you can tell the timing is off. Ive been working on this truck all weekend and need it running for work. Please help.

It should be on the sticker on the radiator support. I know it's not zero. It's somewhere around 10 to 14 degrees I think. But if you do not disconnect the spout connector at the distributor wiring, you will never get it set right. I assume you are disconnecting the connector? If not, the computer will fight you when you try to change the timing.

Thanks Frank....yes, i disconnected the spout connector when i did it. I just need a number so i can set it right. so you suggest about 10 deg BTDC or ATDC?

BTDC(Before Top Dead Center). Always remember you are advancing the timing. If you advance the timing, you are firing more Before TDC. Later timing would be ATDC.
