There can be pros or cons, depending on if you match your amp and subs properly. DVC subs, with a range of ohm ratings, can give you more flexibility, especially if you have a pretty complex system. If you are using one or two subs, don't make it too complicated.The key thing to the SVC vs. DVC choice is to get the set-up that best fits your amplifier. Make your amp choice first and then buy the sub/subs that are a good match. And one last thing, when it comes to subs, it is absolutely mandatory that everything be used properly and installed properly. Even very expensive equipment, especially subs, can sound very poor when not installed and amplified correctly.
