Average E.G.T Temp ?????
1. What is a normal/average temp that i should see just while driving around in the City/Highway/While towing, a.k.a " safe temp" ??
2. What Temp. should i turn the truck off at ? What should the gauge read so it is safe to turn the truck off after a long drive ?
3. What temp. reading should i worry about , a.k.a "Danger Zone" ??
4. What is the best/proper location to mount the probe ??
Any help would be great. Now that i shelled out the cash for the gauge , i want to be able to read it...
Thanks ,

Around town if you get into the throttle you might get it up to 1200F.
When towing you should keep it 900-1000 constant but if you need to pass you can take it up to 1200 but no more than 1200F.

What until it is at least 300F.

Again do not go over 1200-1250 MAX

I mounted mine and my buddies at the lowest part of the exhaust manifold. If i get a change ill take a pic. But if you crawl under the truck right by the drivers door and look up, you will see the exhaust manifold bolts. Should be two bolts, there is quite a bit of room and the steel there is quite thick so it gives a nice place for the screw in probe. I also had to tap the hole. Are you welding a bung in place or is the probe threaded. Its easier to thread the hole you drill. IMO

I agree to mount your pyrometer pre-turbo, and to get your temps low before shutting it off, but I use 350* as a maximum before shutting off.

I installed my pyro probe in the drivers side manifold.(tapped and dyed) This gives the most accurate reading.
As far as temps go it depends on how hot your truck is but I'm running around 600 degrees going 70 mph on flat ground.
1270 degrees is the temp. that you should not reach. This temp. can actually temper the fins on your turbo.
As far as shut down temp. I don't shut down until the temp. is in between 300 and 350 degrees.
