you have to heavily modify the front frame to convert it to leaf springs.

converting a 80's f150 2wd to 4wd is a simple bolt-on.
F250's use different frames for 2wd and 4wd.

It is very easy to do. Use a F-150 IFS Dana 44 with coil springs and use the knuckles from a light duty F-250 which has a Dana 44 IFS which has leaf springs. The ones you want are 1980, 1984 1/2-85 F-250, 1983 F-250 and 350 HD, 1984 F-250 and 350 HD,and 1985 F-250 and 350 HD and the 1981-82 F-350 HD. I am looking at a 1990 Four Wheel Parts Wholesalers that I still have that lists that these vehicles use the Dana 44. An easy wayn to tell if the vehicle is a light duty is to look at the rear end ad see if it hyas flanged axles or aprotruding hub. The hub means it is a heavy duty with a Dana 60 or Ford 10.25 axle.

I'm not sure if the lower balljoint is the same between a D44HD TTB and a F150 D44, but, I know you can use Chevy 3/4 ton 8 lug D44 stuff from the spindles out on a 6 spindle stud F150 TTB axle.
