At some point early tommorrow my 1995 4.0L 4X4 ext cab Ford Ranger will hit 200,000 miles (I'm at 199,989)! The only repairs aside from routine maintenace; The famous ranger door switch problems, 1 bad brake caliper at about 60,000, intake gasket replaced at 160,000.
Anybody have an estimate of how many miles a 4.0L V6 can go for??? Mine seems to still run just fine (only burns 1 qt of oil between oil changes). If I were to guess, I'd say my drive train components are gonna give out before the engine.
sounds great there about your ranger.. id like to see my 99 make 150K before i have to do a motor or anything im like at86K now and nothings been done to mine either gotta love these ford trucks
around 220,000 miles now on my 95 3.0 XLT 2x4 manual trans. i got it as a graduation present in '95 and haven't been the best to it. only major fixes were replacing the clutch and heater core. so, i'd say it's a pretty tough truck. once i get this little oil leak locked down, it won't be using any oil between changes. oil goes in and the same amount comes out. i still get a minimum of 20 mpg mileage. although, i wonder how off that is with the 31" tires, now....
