Bad computer, fuel pump, or something else?.?.?.

I have a 1991 F150 5.0l 5spd 2wd. For some reason at almost random times the truck looses aceleration power. The engine will run at Idle but if the gas pedal is pressed the engine will loose rpms and die. It as done this in gear and out of gear. It lasts for 10seconds to 1min. I am thinking that maybe the computer is bad or maybe the fuel pump. I have all new spark plugs and coil also have a new fuel and air filter, and a new exhuast. I have a spare computer out of a 1993 f150 5.0l automatic transmission truck. but I am not sure if the computers are switchable. any suggestions?

The computers are probably not interchangeable. Have you checked to see what (if any) codes are in the computer? I'd do that first if you haven't done so already.
