dead paint
i have a f-150 78 with factory paint that is very dull. would like to know what to do to get some shine back.what brands of compound or wax or is there something new i could use? thanks !!!!

The trick is to use a compound that will remove the oxidation but will have a minimum affect on the remaining paint. NuFinish, and 3M are good products but personally, I would go to the Meguiars web site and check with them. They have an excellent support section and will answer emails.

72 F250 in bad need of a paint job.
I just picked up this truck last month. The hood is rusted and there is rust on the gutter part of the drivers cab. I heard that there is some sype of primer that I can paint over the rust and it will stop the rust dead in it's track. Is this true or just another sea story? I have never done body work am am looking for some advice. Is there a good thread somewhere that I have not found> thanks for all the help, Dave
