front E-Brake cable

I have an 88 and I've gotten the E-brakes cables changed twice now. My problem is that the last time my friendly mechanic did the front and I want to do it this time. I get no help from Haynes on this subject so I was hoping someone here has done this job before and can tell me how to get the old one out.

Are you doing the cable from the pedal to the equalizer or one of the cables that run from the equalizer to the wheel.

nevermind about the cable I got it out with a little swearing and a prybar, not the best way but effective.

Well for future reference....

Back off the equalizer nut and remove the slug from the tension limiter.

Remove the parking brake cable from the bracket.

Remove the forward ball from the control assembly (foot pedal).

Remove the cable from the control assembly.

Attach a fish wire to the ball end of the cable and pull the cable out, pulling the fish wire through.

Reverse the procedure to install.
