I have searched the site & found no procedure on mods regarding fog lights for a 96. What I want to do is to be able to turn on my for lights on with only the parking lights and not my head lights... If anyone would share their experiences... it would be appreciated.
from relay pin bending/breaking to wire looping... I'll do anything... from quickest to simplest to whatever...
This will be a permanent mod...as long as fog lights can still be shut off... with only the parking lights on.... as well as parking lights & fogs on... when needed...
I would trace the wire, color, then invest in a second switch and a relay. You can get a relay at most auto parts stores they can hold upto 30amps and a cheap lighted switch to activate, oh don't forget the correct amp wire.
You don't have to pu tin any new switches or relays. You use the factory relay like 98's link says. I have had mine like this for a couple of years or more and not had the first problem.
Just follow the link and look at the pics in it. If you have any problems, let us know. It is a simple process...
I did the mod this way, but instead of cutting the DkBlue/Lt Grn wire at the relay I cut it farther up the harness it's in to avoid adding the extra wire. I then had enough slack to stay under the air filter housing and splice onto the parking light circuit at the back of the right front signal light housing. Post # 18 in the above link has good pics
