Didn't see her at church today, which is good. Don't really want to see her right now. I'm not looking for sympathy, I was just baffled by her actions- could've been handled a lot more painless. But she chose a difficult way out. Go figure. Thanks robin and others, guess i'll see what she does tomorrow nite at devo. -BBB

I just turned a gal loose tonight, cause I found one closer at school.

We had an agreement that if something came up between us, that we'd tell it as soon as we got the chance, well I told her tonight, that I found another girl that lives closer, I held up my end of the deal, she gets all bent out of shape and storms off (on im).

The "old" girl lives an hour and a half away. The "new" girl lives 15 minutes away. I told her that it was very hard for me to tell her that. But I can't live with hiding information.

The "new" girl is very cool. Friday night was her first date ever, with me. We went to the mall to order the tuxedo for the prom in 3 weeks. She's going to get her dress this coming week. She's very quiet at school, and is a little more sociable away from school. Her folks really like me, she invited me to her parents' 25th anniversary party last night and we had a blast. I met all of her extended family, and they all seemed to like me as well, heck, they were treating me like I was one of them! To top it all off, she likes my truck too, and she has a Dodge.

This coming Friday night, I'm taking her to the local dirt track to a race and she likes racing too!!!

How much better can it get???

Thats probably 1 reason i dont have a girlfriend, it just seems pointless. But maybe thats just cause i'm mad that i dont have a G/F. Theres this girl at school, she always comes and asks me to sit next to her, everyday, and then if i'm talking to her before class and we walk in together, she says where are WE going to sit today. She asks me to be in her group for every project, etc. But then like this weekend for example, Friday morning- we talked about going to see the movie KILL BILL 2 ( really bad movie in my opinion) she said it sounded like fun and she wanted to go. FRiday Night: Call her, she says she cant cause one of her girlfriends that she was going to bring to the movie got grounded so they're going to hang out at home instead. Then one day she asked me to come down to her work, so i did, and i asked her if she wanted to do somthing tonight, she said yeah, but she had to go home and shower first, then she said she just remembered that she had to go to mankato to get some shoes for being a prom server. I thought "thats ok, i'll just go with her" then she says her and her mom are going (THis means that i cant hang out with her that night) and a bunch of things like this always happen. Do you think these are ligitament reasons, or is she just making stuff up cause she doesnt want to hang out w/me?

Pete, I'm reckonin' she's playing hard to get.

There's a girl I used to talk to at school that was the exact same way. I made an attempt to ask her out, but she started talking about her 21 yr old bf. Very awkward to me, when she is only 17. This one occurred before the "old" girl came along, that I mentioned in the post before yours Peter.

But I'm happy now, with the "new" girl.

play hard to get back

its kinda nice when you know someone likes you.

bill- I don't have any advice, except that you shouldn't try to force anything, let things happen. everything will come together, you have a long life ahead of you, and there is no reason to screw it up right now. I don't know where that came from, I read the thread the other night, and I can't remember what it was all about now.

Good luck Mike (i think, mw95f250)

It sounds to me like she did say something. If she would have said it a week earlier, it would still have hurt you and you would still have been upset. Rejection sucks no matter when it occurs. Chances are, this won't be the last time. We've all been there, and we've all done the same thing to people along the way. Take it on the chin and try again.

I have a friend who gave me good advice once. I was in a situation like you and he said "You should always expect that 9 out of 10 women will reject you. That way when 9 out of 10 don't reject you, then you are happy and when they do, you aren't surprised." The very next girl that I met happened to be the girl that I have been with for 2 years. We're getting married now.

Stick with it, you'll be fine. Enjoy the ride because before you know it, it'll be over.

The best attitude you can take is...

take what you can get...
if she's a friend - enjoy it, if not, so be it...
the decision you have to make is it "ALL or nothing"

sometimes it's fun just to enjoy a little piece of heaven and not worry about ot having everything !

I agree, you have gottne some great advice, look around and don't limit yourself. When the right one comes along you will both know it and be glad you waited. I was married 29 years to the wrong woman, had to work hard all 29 years to keep it together. I finally gave up. stayed single for 5 years then started looking again. Told each one I dated, take me or leave me as I am, don't make me something I ain't. Three years ago I found that one. They are out there sometimes takes a long time to find your match.

ok, i skipped reading all the other posts so it might be possible this has already been said, but

WHAT IF IT WASNT HER INSTANT MESSAGING YOU ON AOL ???

ive been over to friends houses plenty of times, bored, and just joking around by messaging people on their buddy lists, so, maybe you could wait a day or 2 and see if she calls you. it could have been her little sister or brother playing a prank on you. or a friend or cousin, whatever... just keep that idea in mind

and as CWB said, "juggle a couple of women at a time" is great advice. dont get serious with any one of them til you think shes the right one. just date for a while. and, if you get serious with one of them, keep the others as close friends in case things dont work out. basically, you are leaving your options open.

Yea Ive done that too, been at a friends house and get on AIM and joke around with other people. Also had it done to me so its always a possiblitity. Go with the flow man. Like many said, get with a few at a time but dont get serious. Have fun with em, and if it clicks, then dump the others and go for it. One will come around, Ive been told that from the many wise people on this site with the girl probs Ive had. If you want some additional advice look at my thread "Running away", some awesome advice that helped me alot to get over my ex. By the way guys who know what Im talkin about, she wont quit callin me lol.
