smoking
i have a 93 7.3 idi when i start it up it smoke and runs rough and miss at top end, but when it warms up it runs fine what could be the cause?

smoking
diesels run on heat, not spark. when the engine is cold, it doesnt have enough heat to run at full bore. and the smoking at start up is due to the lack of heat. some of the fuel isnt getting completely burned (because diesel burns slow) and that is the smoke on start up
